Steak Sandwich with Blue Cheese and Caramelised Onion Marmalade
This sandwich combines bold flavours from Tracklements Strong English Mustard along with Blue Cheese, paired with the sweetness of the Caramelised Onion Marmalade. Perfect for your next Game Day meal!
Ingredients
This recipe serves one, please allow extra for additional guests
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for grilling) Suggested PONS, Colonna
- salt and pepper, to taste Suggested Tasman Sea Salt
- scotch fillet steak, approx 150-200g
- 30g blue cheese, or your preferred type Suggested Berrys Creek Riverine Blue, Cashel Blue®
- 1 tbsp French Cultured Butter Suggested Lescure
- 2 slices of sourdough bread, or bread of your choice
- Tracklements Strong English Mustard, to taste
- 2 tbsp Tracklements Caramelised Onion Marmalade
- a handful of fresh rocket leaves
- PONS Guindillas Chilli Peppers
Instructions
Preparation
- Season steak with salt and pepper. Heat a grill pan over a high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
- Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, (cook for less time if you'd like your steak less well done, or cook longer for more well done steak.)
- Once cooked crumble some blue cheese on top of the steak, set aside.
- While the steak rests, butter the sourdough slices and toast on the grill until golden and crisp.
Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread the slices of toasted bread with the English mustard. Place steak onto the mustard-spread slice of bread and dollop some caramelised onion marmalade over the top.
- Add a handful of fresh rocket leaves and top with the remaining slice of bread, before cutting into portions.
- Serve the steak sandwich with chilli peppers on the side.
