POLLASTRINI is located in Anzio just outside of Rome, has produced tinned sardines since 1889.  Today they are fished in the Mediterranean Sea, wild Caught – Pollastrini sardines are fished off the coast of Rome in the Tyrrhenian Sea from April until November. Sardines are a perfect fish as they are low in fat but contain iodine, zinc, iron and phosphorus. The sardines are packed in sunflower oil with a small amount of salt and are left whole, plump and juicy, allowing their natural taste and briny flavour to shine through.

The taste remains the same, and the benefits too, in fact in sunflower oil there is oleic acid and linoleic acid useful for providing the body with those precious substances known as omega-3 and omega-6 and for reducing “bad” cholesterol in the blood. Finally, sunflower oil also boasts antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties”
