Oven Baked Hot Wings
Fancy Hanks BBQ Sauces are vegan, gluten free, and locally made from 100% Australian fruit and vegetables. Our Oven Baked Hot Wings get the Fancy Hanks treatment. These crispy golden wings are made with a simple coating seasoned with Chicken Salt and Black Pepper Rub. Once oven baked, coat with Fancy Hanks Habanero & Carrot sauce mixed with melted butter.

Ingredients
- 1 large ziplock bag
- 3-4 tbsp Fancy Hanks Chicken Salt adjust to taste
- 3 tbsp Fancy Hanks Pepper Rub adjust to taste
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1.5 kg chicken wing nibbles
- 6 tbsp Fancy Hanks Habanero and Carrot sauce adjust to taste
- 125g French cultured unsalted butter
To Serve
- celery sticks
- SIMON JOHNSON Mayonnaise for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large ziplock bag, combine the chicken salt, pepper rub, and plain flour. Seal the bag and shake well to mix the ingredients evenly.
- Add the wing nibbles to the ziplock bag with the dry ingredients. Seal the bag and shake until the chicken wings are thoroughly coated with the seasoned flour mixture.
- If time permits, rest wings in the fridge for 1 hour. Alternatively chicken can be left to chill overnight, and oven baked the next day.
- Place the coated chicken wings on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through. Shake the tray to redistribute the wings as they cook, moving them about as required. Once the wings are cooked through, remove them from the oven.
- Add butter to a heatproof jug and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds. Once melted, add the habanero and carrot sauce to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.
- Pour the melted butter and hot sauce mixture over the hot wings, tossing them gently until they are evenly coated and the wings are glossy.
- Serve hot wings immediately with celery sticks and SIMON JOHNSON Mayonnaise on the side, for dipping.
