Ingredients
INGREDIENTS – this is per parcel, increase as required
- 1-2 tbsp  melted butter, we used Lescure demi-sel
- 3 sheets of filo pastry, per parcel
- 1 piece of cheese approx. 75g (choose your favourite from Feta, to Saganaki, Mozzarella, Cheddar or Pecorino) allow extra per person
- sesame seeds, to garnish
- 1 tbsp Velvet Fields Honey
Instructions
- Trim cheese into rectangular pieces, try to keep a uniform shape if making more than one. Harder cheese can be grated if preferred.
- Unwrap the filo pastry. Using 3 sheets at a time, baste the pastry with a generous layer of melted butter and place the cheese in the centre of the rectangle.
- Wrap the pastry and cheese into a neat rectangle and brush the edges with extra butter to seal. Baste the outside of the parcel with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, repeating the steps above for each cheese parcel.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over low to medium heat. Place the parcel in the pan and cook until golden and crispy on all sides. Approximately 5 minutes per side - adjust heat if they cook through too quickly.
- While the parcel is still in the pan, drizzle with the honey allowing it to coat the top and the bottom, set aside and keep warm. Repeat for each parcel.
- Slice and place onto serving plate - sprinkle with extra sesame seeds and serve while they’re still hot and gooey.
