ABOUT:

Meena Throngkumpola is currently a chef at Saint Peter. She movedĀ to Australia in January 2016 as the executive chef of Long Chim Sydney. Born and raised in Texas, Meena always held close ties to her Thai heritage, helping her mother cook noodles at the Buddhist Centre in Dallas each Sunday during the blistering Texas summers. After receiving her business degree from Texas A&M University, she realized her passion for cooking and moved to New York. A 2005 alumnus of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Meena spent the following 12 years in NYC, climbing through the ranks of the kitchen brigade at Nobu 57. Meena’s culinary style is heavily influenced by Thai,Ā Japanese, Chinese,Ā Latin and American Cuisines.Ā During a three-month trip to Melbourne in 2014, where she assisted in operations at the Nobu there, she fell in love with Australia and vowed to return. And the rest, as they say, is history.
