Join us for a Champagne and Caviar Tasting at our SIMON JOHNSON store in Woollahra, hosted by our Caviar Ambassador Guilherme Do Vale and the renowned sommelier Jon Osbeiston.

Join us at one of our Caviar Tastings where our dedicated caviar ambassador will showcase our unique range of sustainably certified caviar from the world’s most famous producers. Our tasting includes the fascinating history of caviar and its origins, tastings and an insight into the caviar market today.
Our caviar expert will explain the different varieties of caviar and fish roe with a guided tasting of three types of caviar. You will learn how to taste caviar in the most authentic way, traditionally as the experts do – revealing the subtle differences of each style of caviar to give you an understanding of how to enjoy and select the best product.

Moncur Cellars is a boutique cellar specialising in bespoke wines and classics. Nestled on Moncur Street for over 15 years, our boutique cellar is renowned for its curated selection of bespoke and classic wines, many of which are rare and hard to find. Under the expert guidance of Woollahra local Mark Blake, they have established themselves as a cornerstone of premium quality.
Renowned Sommelier Jon Osbeiston, a seasoned wine industry veteran with over 42 years of experience, has had a remarkable journey in the retail and importing sector. Starting his own retail and importing business in 1994 alongside partners, Osbeiston’s Ultimo Wine Centre quickly gained recognition as the leading retail shop in Sydney over the next two decades.
His expertise lay in curating a diverse range of wines, including French, Italian, and premium Australian varieties. Additionally, Osbeiston established a wholesale division, World Wine Estates, which imported wines directly to clients. His extensive travels across Europe and Australia provided him with invaluable insights into the wine industry, enabling him to source exceptional wines for his customers.
With knowledge and expertise extending beyond retail, Jon has actively participated in wine tasting panels at various events, including wine shows and wine magazine panels. In 2014, he decided to sell his business to one of the major wine chains. Since then, Osbeiston has diversified his career, working in retail and restaurants, as well as providing consulting services to trade clients. He assists these clients in setting up and managing various businesses, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience in the wine industry.
